Those are some nice eyes. Got out before sunset, my first 2 spots were anchored in with over 3' of ice. Moved in to 10' only couple lookers. Nice sunset anyways. Slush in spots but seem as deep. 15" where I could drill.

Anyone taking ATV's out of Verona Beach since the snowfest of last weekend? Going to try and fish tomorrow.

I agree with Oneida1. Haven’t been out today but Tuesday and Wednesday it wasn’t bad at all. The only real slushy spot I ran into in my 3 mile round trip was before I got outside the bay I head out from.

It was sloppy outta apps this evening. Decided to walk to the first drop and it wasn’t easy. Plenty of slush even on the machine trails, seemed to break through every other step. Wheelers out but were struggling. I don’t think I’d bring mine out till it hardens up.

Is that Williams?  I really want to go tomorrow instead of Sunday but the walk Sunday will certainly be easier.

I have a day of cooking planned for Sunday. Plus I walk a long ways and I hate going to work Monday after fishing Sunday. Everything hurts for a couple days then I have to clean the fish.  Saturday is just easier all the way around.  That being said if I can’t get to my spot Saturday I will go Sunday.

The slush seemed to freeze up some last night. There are still some slush pockets around Cleveland but it was not too bad.

Saturday night should really lock that up good.

Anyone ever target burbot through the ice on Oneida? Thinking about heading there for a night Monday then meeting some guys in old forger to snowmobile the next day.  I can settle for eyes lol my original plan.  But I thought I heard burbot spawn under the ice in February never targeted then but would like to give them a shot.  I thought I heard there’s a targetable population in Oneida, any info would be appreciated.

There is a crust and then maybe 3” - 6” of slush. I watched some wheelers
blasting through slush.

I'm headed over to Oneida next weekend to fish on Sunday & Monday with the Mrs. I'm working on a Smitty sled to put under my foldover Frabill. The weather looks good so far. Do you think the slush will have locked up by then? Our plan is to get bait and park at Lewis point to access the lake. What's been a good depth for Walter and Jack? Never fished Oneida so I'm going to be following the bait shop's advice. The hand drag from Lewis point looks relatively easy-ish. Good plan? Any advice/input would be appreciated. Thanks...BTW, my wife usually beats me on our First, biggest, & most wager. I would like to find some fish to avoid the expected ball-busting from her.

The slush will definitely be locked up by sunday.  It is going to be extremely cold both days with wind chills below zero.  You can forget Lewis Point on sunday unless you get there by like 3am. I would recommend something like Chapman Park.  I would also expect very slippery conditions both days.  Good luck I hope you catch some fish!
