Should continue to build tonight and then Thursday night through the weekend looks really cold again.  I'm ready.  Think we're all ready.

Oh there’s not a doubt in my mind you'll see some machines out there Saturday. Not saying it’s a good idea but they’ll be out lol

How much success does everyone have fishing for eyes after the sun goes down? I’m definitely more of a morning guy than an evening but curious if I’m missing something for the evening bite

In my limited walleye fishing no need to fish at night , I know few that do and they do catch some eyes

i don't mind  going bullhead fishing or  casting for eyes at night but i ain't sitting on a frozen lake in the middle  of night to catch a  fish i most likely will give away anyways

i was 20ft from shore 3/4in, half a whack with spud and threw

Same on the north shore, 1" max. It's going to be a bit. There is more good cold coming this weekend.

Watched 4 people walk out front of the house just before dark. They were headed to a spot that was open last nite. My mother used to look out the window, shake her head and say " all for a fish"

I tried using the Sylvan Beach Cams to see what is going on.
Very grainy images; hard to distinguish anything on the ice.
Maybe camera lenses need a cleaning...

My pix was good. Dark sky but not grainy unless I zoomed way in.   Didn’t see anyone out there.

Friend just told me his neighbor just walked out a long way off either Lewis pt or Chapman (my bad - can't remember which) - caught 6-8 walleye and 15 HUGE perch (15").  Didn't mention how thick the ice was and I'm not sure I'd believe it anyway ... said he was able to walk 2 miles out ... sounds hard to believe but .....He saw the perch tails sticking out of the bucket and said he thought they were walleye tails till he looked in it
WITHOUT PICS, IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!! I’ve fished that lake a long time and only caught my biggest perch at 14 3/4”….and, to catch 15-15” perch in one trip? 🤔

Me & the Mrs took a ride around the west end yesterday. A bunch of people out to the islands, 5 people at lofties shole, 1 person at lower south bay, 1 person straight out of walnut point, 3 people out of onieda shores, 1 of them was in the middle of the channel !!! and a bunch out of big bay. 2 of them were on the east side of the bay !!! BE SAFE OUT THERE !!! There can't be much ice out there, especially the channel.   Sully...

I checked the ice this morning on the south side mid-lake and only got 100 yards from shore where the spud went through in one easy whack. It was definitely less than 2 inches so I high tailed back to shore. To my amazement I saw one brave soul at least a mile out from Chapman Park! Later in the day there was at least two more in front of the park but not nearly as far out. I know everyone is chomping at the bit (me including) but just hold off till Sunday. Plenty of cold air coming tomorrow.

I just swung by and grabbed some beautiful looking buckeyes at Apps. They're getting a bunch of augers and such in right now too. Now we just need this ice to firm up!
