Saving the perch population one walleye at a time! :woot:
You certainly are!! God knows I gave it a shot at depleting the perch population this winter. The perch won... for now. Open water is around the corner....😈🎣

took a ride around the lake today with the mrs. alot of big open spots, and some huge wide open cracks. we pulled into sylvan beach parking lot, and here comes a sled pulling 2 shanties with 1 guy riding on back one. went right across the beach onto the ice, and out to the channel !! I couldn't believe it. was waiting to call the rescue, but they stayed on top, and proceeded to fish. hope they made it back to shore. the ice is moving around alot.  it was piled up good just east of cleveland. got around to the south shore. just east of frenchmans, and dunahms island a huge opening atleast 100 yds across all the way across the lake. went across the brewerton bridge, and there's 3 more idiots 100 yds from the open water in the channel !! sometimes you just can't fix stupid. went to big bay to look at where they did a rescue yesterday where a wheeler went through. there's about 10 guys out there in the same area that the wheeler went through the day before !! we had seen enough at that point, and went home. I was out a handful of times this year, but didn't post ice conditions. It was a strange freeze up this year, and I knew it wouldn't last long once it warmed up. stay safe , and stay off the ice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Sully...

Heading to Rome for my second dose this morning, there are people out of the east end. I could see at least 4 groups. Darwinism is real lol. Ice is piling up in town, the edges are open water, or open dirt actually. Be nice to have some water in the lake when the ice goes out.

Yeh I know when to cry "uncle" putting my ice gear away today.  Was a short season but got a few fish in the freezer.  Snow shower going on right now combined with the cold tonight will only make the conditions more dangerous.  We'll have an inch on ice on the open spots which is a recipe for disaster.  Time to start getting the boat ready looking at the long term weather forcast we should be on the open water early.  Glad there were no major issues on the lake this year lets keep it that way.

I gotta try that   I'm a firm believer that the frying pan was invented by a man who hated broiled fish

I would have to put rockies caught in cold water somewhere in that list.  My favorite is usually just whichever one of those I can catch at the time!

Interesting...
I’ve caught a bunch over the years. Have always just pitched them back.
