Nice !!  I find I do as well with no electronics as the guys I fish with that have them - with 1 exception - when the fish are suspended.  Then they have a definite advantage......

I finally got electronics a couple of years ago and somewhat agree.  But more importantly I think electronics allow you to see how fish react to certain presentations.  The ability to see if a fish is willing to chase up on the bait is quite important.  Last Friday if I didn't figure out that they wanted to chase then our catch rate would have been even lower than it was.  We managed to scrounge up some smelt and crappie but most likely would have been skunked without electronics.

Weird how this slush developed. I had pretty decent conditions last week and figured it would only improve. I have friends out today and they said it was a mess, they did make it out though so I guess it's doable.

I've fished almost every day this week and the slush has been getting worse each day.  My guess is there's cracks under this snow where its coming up from.  I haven't experience any open cracks where I've been fishing I think they would be visible if they were very wide not that much snow on the ice.  I have a wheeler with chains on all wheels and I think if I didn't would have had some real trouble today.  Just passing on the conditions where I've been (North Shore) so obviously doesn't pertain to other places.  As always I would recommend if you don't know this lake don't just take off anywhere's.  Stay where you see people and remember just because you see sleds motoring across the ice doesn't mean it's safe for walking or wheeling.  Stay safe and be careful.

Nice shot Dug. Don't think the moon is in that phase....h2l

NO...hunts2long, that photo was taken by Deadeyez a few days ago and he 1st posted it, not me.
I just wanted to compliment him on it so I added it to my post...I've witnessed lots of sunsets
on Oneida lake over the years and I miss it miss them...that's all.

I see it it is in the dark of the moon phase isn't it? Must of been a UFO then. Lmao

Slush made traveling a little bit of a pain off Cleveland. Slush fields pop up out of nowhere. Tough bite for us today. Two keeper eyes and a couple perch for our efforts

Got out this evening for the eye bite. Ended up landing 4 keepers and 3 shorts. Plenty of fish where I was but they were finicky. Here’s the 3 nice eaters I brought home.

Thanks fellas. Bill, I didn’t make it out to that one spot yet. Gonna try to shoot out there this weekend depending on the slush

Great fish pics, guys. And nice job on the quick limit, DeadEyez.

Crazy sunrise this morning. I’m still half blind from taking the pic.

And as for this slush. It’s crazy over here on North Bay. Can’t find a spot that isn’t slush past about 100yards out. I did plow thru it with the wheeler but ended up setting up in about 8” of water/slush. Glad I wear high rubber boots.

I emailed them last week and here is their response.

"We have requested a service technician for repair.  Unfortunately, due to COVID, it is taking longer than usual to get someone on-site to make the repair.  Thank you in advance for your patients, as we understand the value of the service which these cameras provide."

Josh and I accessed from the Verona beach area this morning. It wasn’t too bad with sleds, but,  did hit some slush pockets that slowed us down. I did see quads out that were laboring to get to their destination. On the way in, the top crust had softened and made the run to shore a bit more interesting. There are shallow and deep areas of slush out there that ranges 6”-12” of slush. Tall rubber boots are a plus. We’ve had better bites, but, will take what we caught home for a nice meal. The fish were very fussy today. We’ll get out again during next week. I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend if you venture out onto the ice.😎🎣

If you guys would quit poking holes in the ice we wouldn't have so much slush!   😀

Hard to beleve what a good insulator snow is, would have thought the temps would have frozen it solid. I hate slush. Frozen Margaritas are ok.

Everyone should go and drill as many holes as possible and flood everything. Should freeze up in a few days.

I make statements based on my experiences in the location I fished only. Check ice conditions for yourself.

Great idea it’s only 79.5 square miles shouldn’t take long 😜

I had a slow day as well but ended up  with a meal or 2 , encountered some slush pockets , with 2 riders and 2 shacks in tow , it slowed us down but we plowed through.

That is a great pic... I'm still half blind from looking at it!
