Fished 4:30-6 this evening. One keeper eye for me. I sucked lol. They were there I just couldn’t get it done. My buddy that was with me did much better. Travel was nice on the sled. Be careful if your out. The glare ice with snow on it it slick! My 79 year old fishin buddy went down pretty hard. Took it like a champ though.

A bunch of the guys on this website reached out to give me help getting on the ice and staying safe a couple days ago. A group of stand up guys if I were asked. Some of the same people that are being accused of being rude were exceptionally nice to me and I have a hard time reading backwards and seeing any rudeness. I have been watching this thread for a couple years and have scrolled backwards and probably read every page of it. There’s a ton of information on here.

Thanks for the help scout57. Heading sat am from "Albany". Probably going to access from Verona Park. Didn't do well off Sylvan last time. Hope you chase some flags...….

Forgot to ask, where do you park at Louis Point?? Saw satellite image where road circles a house with garage. Do police bother you if you park on side of road. Thanks...

The road has no parking signs so I would plan on getting there early for a spot in the lot.

For guys with trailers and machines is it OK for us to park at Verona, to avoid clogging Lewis?

I am almost positive that you can. Sylvan is not that far by machine either.

Thanks reeleyz, if the gate is open I'll take a peep or just move down the line if not friendly. Usually just walk, but I'd like to explore away from crowds. BTW nice job getting the young ones out! Great pics..... @)

Heading out Sat. morning out of Apps, should I bother bringing the smitty or is the snow not bad enough to drag just a one man shanty out ? The less weight the better for me...

Yesterday there was anywhere from 2" to maybe 8" - 10" MAX where there were hard drifts. I don't think we will lose much snow today.

When I am dragging I always use a smitty unless I am only dragging a small jetsled.

Thanks. Never take them out of the shanty.  Looks like it gets cold enough tonight walk out won’t be horrible.  Hopefully I will have a bucket of perch to help with the walk back.

Wow...great morning for you scout. !!
I struggled finding any numbers of marks, late morning to 4:30 walking off the south shore yesterday. Mid day walleye bite has been tough for me.
I will try another new spot I guess tomorrow, maybe north shore.

Good job trapper.

sweet meat on those flatties !

The smaller teeny bluegills and sunnies drive me crazy some days.... quick hit and gone... quick hit and gone...stole bait.. re- bait....miss another one....repeat !
