Icejunky already posted this in the 2011 tournament thread but I think we should have this locked somewhere either in the species or bragging shack for all to see. It might also be a challenge for people to try and break the record. Just think what kind of big fish pictures we would see. Only rule maybe that it has to have a picture with a tape measure, the person holding the fish and doesn't have to be a tourney fish but has to be a member of Ice Shanty. What do all you guys think? I'm going to repost some of the records that Icejunky posted with a few changes. Click the species for the pics.

Might be great fun but one rule that need to be added is we mesure to the 1/8in round down. I would not want to have to get the mic. out so I could say mine was bigger.

Pretty sure walleye and pikerel are the same species.

In what universe! :cookoo:
-
Rayf The pikerel is in the pike family but still not the same. Even the game and fish see them as diffrent the walleye is not in the same family. Not to be a jerk but just to let you know.

Pretty sure walleye and pikerel are the same species.
They are Chain Pickeral that are caught in Eastern North America and they are in the Pike Family but have chain markings on their skin instead of bean spots like Northern Pike.
Not a hundred percent sure but think the record for Chain Pickeral is around the 8 lb mark.
Usually Canadians call Walleyes by the name Pickeral and Americans use the name Walleye.....they are the same species.
Hope this clarifies the difference between the Species.
