lol well... we were fishing at onota. It was my friends first time ever fishing so we were yanking up these bluegill, w/e bit. A couple weeks earlier I lost a ncie salmon that broke my line, then 2 weeks after I caught the broodstock, I lost a monster brownie, also snapped my line, had it 4ft from shore, no net so I went in after it and lost it waist deep. back to the salmon I got, were sitting there fishing, nothings biting so I walk 100ft down the lake to see if their biting diff area, start walking back towards my friend... HOLY crap! ther like OMG... huge fish bout 3ft long swimming at the edge of the wall, I stick my worm in front of its face, it keeps swimming, wont bite, Im going crazy cause its a huge fish. so I layed down on my stomach, reach my hand into the water, snuck up and grabbed his tail, he swung around n Im strugglin to get this fish outa the water, finally got it onto shore, measured it 34", weighed it 10lbs 9oz, and took pics.weird thing bout this fish was had a mark on its right side looked like he was hit by a boat or something, but he was in great shape.First salmon in my life, lol that what awesome. well all the huge fish I lost this year due to my 8lb stren, put some better line on. havent lost one yet.

May be true but it is not like the state put in 25 fish that size. That could have been the only one. Not sure I would say where!!!  ;D ;D

Don't those fish only live for a little while after they're stocked or something?  I'm prolly wrong, but I thought for sure I heard that somewhere

How fast do these things grow?  That's amazing that they can grow that much in just a year or 3!  It takes a pike or eye about 5-6 years to grow that much

Those fish are stocked at that size. I do not think that many of these fish hold over has the state puts most of these fish in waters that would not hold them over the summer. Depends on the body of water. Water just gets to warm. JMHO

So it's a put and take stock just for ice fishing?  Never heard of that.  I know alot of lakes around here are stocked w/ trout and they get caught just about as fast as they get put in, but it's not like they die off every year.
