Waterbury Res. opening weekend?
« on: Jan 16, 2013, 09:18 AM »
I'm pretty sure this upcoming weekend is the opener for inland trout waters including Waterbury Resevoir.  Haven't been there yet this winter nor seen any reports about conditions.  I suspect the recent warm spell did a number on any ice/snow that was there?  Just looking for a report on conditions?  Thanks!

Was there last Saturday 1" crust 1"slush 2-3" black ice, it varied ,but never left the Blush Hill Cove. Be Careful out there, many springs and thin areas.

I have fished it in the summer but never on the ice.  I seem to remember someone going through last year.  If I try it, it wont be soon.

I saw anywhere from 6-8 inches last weekend, should be ok with the cold snap were getting. Lots of springs though check the ice often if you're heading out there.
