Anybody now or have any tricks on refilling 1# propane canisters.
-
I bought the adapter from cableas. Put the canisters in the freezer for a few hours. Your 20lb. tank should be at room temp. Attach empty canister to tank them turn upside down then open your 20 lb. Takes about 45 sec. to a minute. I listen until stops filling. Filp back over, disconnect an check for leaks. (Canisters should be completely empty first.)

Be careful. It works. It can be dangerous though. I don't know if a store bought model will regulate the pressure but you can overfill a 1 lber.

20 lber must be warm at least room temp the 1lb tanks good and cold from freezer. sometimes u get one pretty full sometimes only 1/2 to 3/4 but that's ok better than 3.50 for a new one. I don't believe u can over fill one been doing this for years now and left the small tank on for a long time and it will only get as full as it will allow.
