Thank you snoops!!

You are welcome. I happened to run across the Derby info this morning before I saw the post here. . Hope to be able to go... Have fished Lovell once from my kayak and always wanted to get on Pine River but no boat access that Im aware of so ice fishing should give me a chance to try it out. I assume there must be a place to park and walk on there.
-
Its going to be tough parking for everyone with all this snow
-
Thanks for the info!
-
yes real tough parking and poor peoples pub even if you tell them u eat there wont let you park

I was wondering about that, I made 2 trips last week, that's where I parked and drove the wheeler out down the boat ramp. Maybe that's why I got a funny look?

Ok guys, wondering how you all feel about the current snow/ ice conditions. Worried with the warm weather as well as all the snow that we wont have many participating. I know I would be if I wasn't running the event. We normally have 12-15 pre registered by now. To this point we only have 1 ???
-
What are the prizes and how many?
-
First place for adults $100 cash. Kids is fishing gear.
-
is that it for prizes, or is there more and if so what are they if you know?

I was on Balch yesterday and the snow is packing down...and with all the sled action out there hopefully that'll help pack the snow as well. Ice was a good foot in the cove I was in..lets hope theses warm temps don't mess up things to much

what make portables are they part of the entry fee or separate from derby entry
-

-

The derby is a fundraiser for the recreation department. We are trying to get more donations by the day. If you are just going to fish it for the prizes then maybe its not the one for you.
The 2 portables that we are going to raffle are...Shappell wide house 5500 & a Eskimo Quickfish 2.

Well said! These derbies are meant to be a fundraiser, the prize is nice, but the real prize is to have fun and support the local community.

Spot on guys. I have not participated in this derby before, but my friends have and they say it's for a great cause. More about giving back to the community than going home with fancy prizes.

How are the ice conditions?
-
Lunky the spot I'll be at on Balch has ~ 19" of ice with several inches of slop on it. As always though check as you go especially in areas you do not know. Good luck guys.
