How many tipups does your state or providence allow you to use at one time? In NY it is five tip-ups or tip downs and 2 hand lines.
No more than two lines per person (including tip-ups) nor more than four hooks or lures may be used.
Tip-ups and similar devices used for ice fishing must show the angler's name and address. All lines must be under immediate control.
5 lines of any combination in maine. some special waters allow only 2. 2 poles in summer also.
5 lines in total, so however you wanna do it, i usually set 4 tipups and jig with the other one
Ice-fishing: A total of five lines withtwo hooks on each line are permittedwhile ice fishing, unless restrictionsare listed for a specific area in thePublic Fishing Area section. Each icefishingline must be under directsupervision and within unaidedobservation of the angler. Holes madefor ice-fishing may not exceed 10inches in diameter on any areacontrolled by the Commission.
Every year a thread like this leaves me nauseated. This one is no exception. Being from Canadas most westerly province BC, we are allowed ONLY ONE LINE DOWN ANY HOLE. You can put out a tip-up then thats your line so you can't have any more, no jigging hole or handline hole. The only time you are allowed 2 lines is if you are alone in a boat.Just once I want to take my inflatable boat down to the ice and drill 2 holes on both sides of the boat and see what the game department has to say. I think that on Lake Champlian you are aloud to use 15 tip-ups per guy. I may be wrong.
You are correct. I would love to be able to use 15 tipups at once on my favorite pike lake.
