Just so you know:

36-41 MPH sustained winds all weekend or higher. Highs 35 on Sat. to 14 on Monday. Gonna be brutal. Ground blizzards, roads snowed in, dress warmly!

That beautiful nasty thing is blowing thru here also, I'll give it another week or so myself and still get some dang early early ice this year

Thanks Slayer for the report last two years I’ve tried up at FRR were both very windy days so much so that the pebbles from the sand were hitting my face but it was doable. The most difficult thing was the long ass hike for a fat dude like me haha. Only difference between me and the guys up there not catching anything if that lake is frozen I will be catching. You guys think it’ll be frozen?

Been keeping an eye on the wind report it looks like by 130pm it’ll be only at 22mph. I will be long gone will start the drive at 6am and go up as far as I can before having the huff it. I’m hoping not a long hike. I’m not worried about the wind just don’t want the hike to be wasted and then no ice.

I have prefect signal up there so I’ll make sure to take a picture and post.

Success! 8 total cutties on kasties, swedish pimps and me refinkee in 19 fow. They were tight lipped so had to work for it. We ran into a forum member with a Tacoma and with his assistance we were able to get as close as a 1/4 mile. Video coming soon! Here Are a few teaser pics!

Slayer! I kid you not 0 wind and a few breezes came through at 5 to 8mph

Next year I'm getting 35's and we will blast all the way to the lake! Just kidding that last drift was no joke

. There was plenty of ice, and by that of course I mean about the bare minimum anyone should ever go out on.

Good times it was nice to have company up there. Fishing was slower than I expected but the weather was better.

I took this shot on the way in about 6:30am

Judging the time of your post I assume you decided you had enough and didnt go for round to at SMG?

Yea i got to my car and was pretty tired and couldn't wait to get home and take a nap. Hope you enjoyed it. Couple of my files got corrupted.
