It might be over for me.

Saturday and Sunday were the best  days on the ice this year with warm temperatures, little wind and cooperative fish. The ice was 2 feet thick with no slush or honeycombing. I have a bad feeling this rain will raise the water levels enough to ruin the edges. I'm hoping I'm wrong. Anyone willing to use a plank for access has another week to 10 days of ice fishing.

I'll be out again tomorrow. I drove by a couple places this afternoon and the ice looked accessible.

The ice can look very safe from above ..But remember the water below is warmer than the air and in constantly creating air bubbles to rise into the ice mass .Spring holes and moving current are even more dangerously working  .  I have seen safe looking ice sink in front of my eyes. Be careful.. Winter will come again next year..
