Does anyone know if you can ice fish Coatesville reservoir? I live in Downingtown and may have a few hours to get out on Friday and want to go somewhere local.

I have seen people ice fishing there before. Based on the rules in the link below I would say ice fishing is allowed. There was open water in the center of the lake when I went by at 6 pm.

Last time I tried I caught almost all small white perch. I live ten min. away but rarely fish it. I suspect the coves at Marsh Creek might be good by tomorrow; maybe a better option.

I don’t know about coatesville, but the reservoir by my house (griffin) is posted NO ice fishing. I work for PA Water and know they have security that patrols our plant daily.

But then again, I know people who have fished that reservoir numerous times with out an issue
