Duck harbor has a great variety of fish in it.
Good ice access at the state boat ramp, south shore ..
A deep area mid lake ,east of boat ramp that is usually the last area to freeze solid, so be aware of that.

My boots on some ice... A line down a hole...Some fish on the screen... And a flag in the air !......Winter is Good !!

Checked it out by the boat ramp today. Got like 2 feet off shore ice was cracking under feet. Went no further nobody was on ice.

we are going to need  more cold weather , with little snow cover before Duck is ready with safe ice off the state access.
I am looking forward to fishing it when we get safe ice...hopefully real soon.

I've never fished Duck Harbor but I intend to try it out this winter. Perhaps Belmont also.....not too far away. I have heard that the approach road to Belmont can get pretty nasty.

You heard right, it's pretty steep and gets really nasty easily.  This is a place that you'd be happy to have chains on your tires and wish you had them if you didn't when the access road gets icy.

Belmont was supposed to be drained for 2019 spring dam repair.

Hopefully that won't happen.  I thought it was supposed to be drained back when they drained White Oaks and Miller's Pond.  The thing that really burns me is they drain them and then they sit for years because they don't have the money to rebuild them.  I'm no engineer but it'd be nice if they took one of those inflatable dams and put that up behind the dam so they don't have to drain it.  If they can do that on the Susquehanna River I don't see any reason they could do that at Belmont, White Oaks, Miller's Pond, or anywhere else for that matter.

I've caught quite a bit of trout threw the years here.some decent Browns over 20".
Nice lake to fish for sure.I found if you want to catch trout on this lake, you have to target them.Tipups, close to shore, set different deps.under ice.i allways set 1.  Just a few feet under the ice.

checked belmont  yesterday (12/27). the access road was snowcovered and slippery. there was no one else on the lake, but there was a set of tracks in the snow where someone had pulled out a sled. the ice was good right up to the boat ramp. i chopped a few holes with a spud,  i didn't measure with a tape, but estimated about 6 or 7 inches.
