Anyone make itout this weekend? I wanted to but had a Xmas party saturday and spent sunday recovering from the party...

I hit Walby Lake (wasilla) Saturday and Sunday.  One 18"er on Sunday.  Missed some monster take downs both days.  Saw a couple 3+ lb fish taken both days.  Jigs and shrimp fished.  8-10" of glare ice.

Also stopped by Anderson Lake (also wasilla) to find that nearly a third of it was still open.  Fished one of the openings for half an hour, couple small hits, nothing serious.

Made it out to a local lake for some pike.  Not very incouraging!  Two fish, one a hammerhandle and the other a nice 6 lb. fish my boy caught and released.

just got back from mirror lake, iced about a dozen fish in about and hour. then my dog wanted to leave

Nothing of any size, tryed a bigger hook but that did work either. Had to go back to the smaller hook because i got one and the hook came out its eye need to go back to that lake in the summer with a boat and a fish finder and find out were the bigger fish hang out....


Theres a good 15 to 17 inches of ice on the lakes around anchorage...with it was nice solid black ice so i could drive on it...
