Tip up storage
« on: Jan 09, 2013, 10:26 PM »
I carry a lot of my gear especially tip ups in my trappers basket, and 1 of them always seems to get tangled around another. Even if I check them the night before during the trip gremlins mess it up. I mainly use polar and a couple windlass. Looking for an idea to separate them in the basket without taking up the whole thing. Some sort of tubing, PVC would be too bulky. Any help would be appreciated.

Changed my middle name to "You should have been here yesterday".         Remember it's called fishing, not catching.

I use a piece of double-sided velcro to wrap the spool to the frame. Works well and no tangles. I don't use my packbasket anymore though, they seem to ride better in a plastic tote and the cover keeps them snow-free when traveling across the ice on the wheeler.

I have heard of people using pvc pipe and a milk crate.  slide the pipe in till the basket is full then drop one tip up per pipe.
