Fly Fishing Lures
« on: Dec 18, 2012, 02:44 AM »
Does anyone use fly for ice fishing, maybe tipped with a wiggler or waxworm, etc? I thought about giving it a try, but thought I would ask the peanut gallery first  ;D

Changed my middle name to "You should have been here yesterday".         Remember it's called fishing, not catching.

I tie various scud patterns and tip them with a wax worm for trout.

I've tied like  size 12 bead heads or mini buggers in size 10 and put them 16 inches above a pimple or something similar  with some success.. i have to admit i don't fish like this enough.. But i have seen Lakers, crappie and perch hit the flies above the jig ..
