thats cool wonder how long it takes to digest that mouse
-
It hammered a shad rap so it was still hungry!
-
its a standard fly fishing technique here to go out on crazy hot summer nights and skate big bass flies (mouse patterns) across the top of the water..we hammer browns on them all night long.
-
Sure it wasn't a catfish. :) That's wilded

I watched a show that a lady was fly fishing a hand made squirrel bait . She was fishing some where in northern Russia and it was trout that were hitting these squirrel baits .The fish on average were 10-12 lbs.It was pretty wild.
-
wow thats weird
-
Thats pretty interesting, guess fish aren't all that picky eh?
-
i have been using white mice (feeders) to catch pre-spawn brookies to 9lbs in northern new hampshire for ten years it slays them when they are coming out of the conn. river into the feeder creeks to spawn. mice have also caught some breeder rainbows for me to. all of them have been released!
-
I would of never of gest.
-
I have caught a brown with 2 big mice in his gut and still eating . I really hate eating browns too but it inhaled the jig and was a bleeder . Strawberry Reservoir has potguts and a lot of them go for a swim and become lunch there .
-
I caught a 16 inch brown last summer that had a mouse in its gut also, they must be tasty i guess :P
-
about 20 years ago i was fishing a little local stream. it was summer, but it had rained all day and the trout were on the feed. i caught a 19'" brown that had 2 mice and a mole in its stomach.and it still hit my bait twice. I guess when their hungry, their hungry! ;D :cookoo:
-
i'm going to the pets store to get some mice ;D ;D
-
thats crazy...never heard of such a thing...
-
wht the f***?
-
So...we know the trout will eat the mouse AND the cat will eat the trout and the mouse, the only question that remains is whether or not the trout will eat the cat to get the mouse... :roflmao:

Several years ago, I was fishin southern wyo and caught a brookie about 10" long. When I gutted it, there was a small snake in his belly, a water snake I suppose, about 10" long too. Imagine that.
-
I watched a fishing show on tv, this guy was going for some huge brookies using a mouse presentation on a fly. He was getting quite a few
-
i caught a 14"brook trout last year on a nymph while fly fishing.he swallowed the nymph so i kept him.when i cleaned him when i got home he had a field mouse and a crawfish in his stomach.there wasn't a hair off the mouse so he must have just got him.
-
Man, that's quite a meal. :P
I have also seen fishing shows where the t.v. host was using pike flies that looked like mice and he was hammering big brookies.
This took place in Labrador Canada.

That's odd indeed, maybe some youngster had him tied on a hook for bait? :-\
Talk about a gut ache, all the hard plastic. ::)

I have heard that they can get flushed off hills into lakes and streams during times of heavy rain. Flash flood kind of stuff. Thats why i always carry a mouse fly in case a thurder head breaks loose.
Also back in washington there is a river where people rubberband a hook to a mouse and float in out into the current on a wooden shingle and when it is in the right spot they jerk the mouse off the shingle. Ive heard they catch some big rainbos and browns.

People will do anything, won't they?
-
Actually it is common for a mouse to go for a swim at night . I fish a lot at night and have witnessed this several times and they can swim across a bay with no problem . Why ? I guess just to get to the other side .
-
hellsangler i waa just going to say the same thing
-
we have alot of mice in the warehouse that i work at. might have to recruit a bunch of trout for pest control
-

i seen a mouse swimming along one night also seen a moose cow and calf out in the middle of a fairly large lake heading out towards some islands, seen a deer a half mile from shore once as well.

when your hungry, you just have to eat something.
