So grump where would be a good place to target the eels? I'd kinda like to target them for a night fish.

Burbot fishing on West Hawk is outstanding. Catch at least a dozen burbot for each laker I have taken there. Burbot are almost jet black from W. Hawk as well. Only fished this lake late March through April as ice conditions would allow.

Maybe I will give West hawk a try, where on the lake do you fish? or is anywhere good, I really don't know what "structure" a burbot likes. Jiff, fishing at night in the park is fine, you just can't "camp out" on the ice over night.

Sled-in, we would fish at the campground and public beach... think it's called sunset beach... correct me if I'm wrong. It's been 5 seasons since we last fished there but I can't imagine that much has changed. Fished off this beach at the "big rock" ... about 70-90 feet of water there. Burbot were taken on salties at the bottom. Lakers were often suspended 10 feet or more from he bottom but most often at the bottom as well... used silver jigging spoons or white tube jigs tipped with a saltie or small strip of tulibee belly.
