Thats what I figured lol long ass drive from Stevensville,  I was on Echo and church slough a couple weeks ago  ,but that ice is gone, tried the causeway as well

I haven't ventured out in a week, tending to work and building projects...however I suspect you could base-camp in Kalispell and find safe ice in all directions.  The Daily Inter Lake even had a photo of a father and son fishing Church Slough this week.  You wouldn't even have to leave town!  Good luck with your hunt!

 you need to throw in with people going to nelson or peck.
Won't find fishing like that on western 1/2 of state.
It is well worth the trip
Been fishing peck for over 20+yrs and never had a bad trip.
