Gardner ice
« on: Feb 19, 2024, 12:33 PM »
Fished in Gardner yesterday, a solid 2hr drive but it’s cold there and I fished on 6in of ice.  If it wasn’t for the flasher it would have been a long day, 2 pickerel and a small bass on the tip ups.  Found a cooperative school of small crappie and sunfish to keep the jig rod bent most the day.  Won’t go back to that place again but it was nice to use new equipment.  Trying to get to Moosehead to close my season out

Hot dogs were Kayem Old Tymes

Good hot dog choice, kosher.  Moosehead was an interesting fishery, I went a few weeks before salmon season opened.  I may go back too.

I wouldn’t call it paying of, was it better than a sharp stick in the eye, sure, but other than that not worth the ride.

I am fixated on Moosehead right now, I can’t handle any more pictures of 4-6lb brook trout

In retrospect I wish I checked lake Denison up there before I setup where I did, I may have been in a better spot

Nice job. I should have gone but I had a brutally slow day at Comet on Saturday
