Yeah the weekend of Feb 6 it was impassable after the second big wind/snow event. up until then it was rutted but ok.

Does anyone know what the closest access to the caraganas is on the west side of the lake?

West side of lake would be Penzance landing, it is pretty much straight across from the 3 wind rows of trees....
If the windrows your talking about are the ones By Midway landing.

Is the grid road maintained to lake on west side at penzance landing? Have driven around to midway in past but would be nice to access from west.

TS86 in years past it's been good to go, i don't think it's ever been maintained right to the waters edge as the grid does a 90 degree corner a couple hundred yards from the shore line. I haven't been there this year yet but it's a pretty popular access point for the west side locals so a person would just have to go check it out.

Looking at going for Perch at Rowan’s Ravine or within 5K of the area, any suggestions, depth?

If your bent on going to Rowans 12-16 feet
Not deeper. But in all honesty You will have better luck at Regina Beach. We caught way more fish there including a very large Northern that went back to live another day.
It’s been slow at Rowans least before the cold snap it was. Heading out this weekend
Back to Rowans looking for more Walleye
If you do head out look for an orange and blue Tacoma come by and say hi or if ya wanna borrow a fish cam to take a a peek underneath feel free. I always bring it along but rarely use it. Find the sonar is enuf for me.
Best of Luck

trail is possibly blocked
was there before the cold set in
i went south of the trail  1/4 mile and there was a trail thru the field that lead back to the trail and onto the ice

I have always had pretty good luck for perch and even walleye right in front of the
beach at Rowans 15-25 feet

There was 28" of ice at Alice Beach on Tuesday. I will now need an 18" extension from inside my camper.

I imagine the ice is thicker in other places.
When I'm done drillin' - all that's left is an 8 inch wide, moist, dark hole that smells fishy......

I haven’t fished the mountain this winter but overall I’m hearing the same thing from guys that I trust and guys that can fish. Slower than normal fishing this winter on most lakes it seems. Not sure what that’s about....

Was out all day on Monday, marked tons of fish but couldn't get anything to bite. Buddy caught a small walleye and small pike. Super slow day. Hopefully it picks up soon!!

I fished just north of the old bridge at little arm on south  side  of shore  19 feet on Feb 22 and caught
7 perch and a sucker in first hour then it was done. When  perch came in they were biting. Came back on feb25. 2 perch came by caught  one and that was it some pike  came buy and were not interested even after changing hooks.

Hi rapripper,
For an ice fishing guided adventure on LML there is also MTN Man Outdoors & Saskatchewan Outdoors Outfitting.
Here is the website for both guides https://www.mtnmanoutdoors.com/ & http://saskatchewanoutdoors.ca/fishing.html

G&S Marina Outfitters out of Rowans Ravine is another guiding service, but, think they only operate during the open water season.

How is access at Etters?  Can a guy drive anywhere on the lake or is there too much snow?

Fished all morning, very slow.. was at Sarnia then south to the island. Few perch and cisco’s.

Stupid question... Is it common for a pressure ridge to dissipate or go away...?! I was certain I had to cross one to get to the island, but it was gone or at least i Couldnt see any more

Caught this 3 1/2 Pike on 2 lb test Trilene Micro Ice line at Clearview. Perfect drag setting to bring her in. Was challenging fun folks! Thanks to Gord at Pokey’s for the tips.

This past week at lml has had it's ups and downs. Lots of perch at Rowans in 15-18ft but hardly any worth keeping. Moved around and managed my PB walleye. Also moved around a lot looking for burbot, long days with very few fish. Definitely spawning on the south end of the lake, pre-spawn feeding further up the lake. Hopefully this warm weather really fires them up!
