Title: Big Menominee on Quick Stikes
Post by: Woodman on Jan 07, 2003, 10:56 AM
I started using 10 - 14 inch menominee on one tip each time I have gone out this year and the second half of last (60-100days).  I have now iced 14 northerns over 12 lbs, two of which were 20+.  I am using quick strike rigs and soaking each menom in Dr. Juice Musky/Pike scent gel.  I usually set them half way down in the water column in 15-20 feet.  Give it a try and hold on.

Menominee or Round Whitefish, lake cisco whatever are a great lakes fish which inhabit all but Erie.  They spawn in the late fall and school up with pods of whitefish.  They feed on or just off the bottom and usually run 10-18 inches.  Not very good table fare.
