Title: Airplane Jigs
Post by: walliceman on Dec 19, 2003, 06:03 AM
Anyone use Northland's Newer "Mini" airplane jig? and have success? What about their Buckshot Rattle Spoon? Anyone use the Forage minnow fry? Thanks...

I used the buckshot rattle spoon (Perch color) on lake nippising the last two years  -- with great sucess on the walleyes. It also will get you the occasional slobbo perch. I used the same jigging spoon last year on Simcoe for big perch.

I bought the buck shot rattle this past sunday,
tipped it with wax worm pulled up a 11 inch blue gill.
Now if we can get some more ice ,I'll go further out
for the prech.

I see but no luck on the airplane jigs huh? The new smaller ones look great i bet if i got them in super glo perch or just regular perch they would work well...

Walliceman,

Okay, so I'm not sayin' that they work for walleyes, but I have used them for trout.  I like the 1/8 ounce size a little better than the 1/16, but both have worked when tipped with about 1 inch of nitecrawler for some dandy trout.

Around here I've only seen 'em in glow in the dark colors.  I don't know if they make any other ones, but I prefer the blue or pink for the trout.  The orange and green didn't seem to get as many hits.  Don't ask me why though.
