Adjustable Sinker
« on: Dec 31, 2022, 09:44 AM »
I am looking for a knot or swivel or something that will allow me to adjust a sinker on a drop shot rig without re-tying. So let's say I have a hook with a sinker below it by 18"... I want to be able to slide the sinker up the line and have it 12" below the hook instead (so now there's an excess 6" just hanging off the sinker).

I swear I've seen something like this before but I can't find the right words for Google to find it. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

Slip bobber stops or small split shot?

Look for the dropshot weights with the pinch style line clip.

I rig my leaders w/ 2 slip bobber stops & a sliding egg sinker to let bait climb & drop in water column. Seems like it would work for a drop shot setup.

Yup---same here. Also use for sinker above the hook when not using dropshot.

With what your describing I would use a lindy rig with a phelps (or other) floating jig. Action will be different but there will be no weight on the line at all.............There is nothing that walleye can inhale as easy as a phelps floater and this setup works well for trout too.

I have some Do-It molds to make some similar sinkers.
I think that is exactly what the he's looking for!
I can’t take credit as  a bass fisherman bud turned me on to them a few seasons ago
