Do you find these traps annoying to reel up aftah a catch ? Don’t get me wrong ..I love em . So I cut a slit in the pot metal line guide….so that you can slip the line out and simply reel it up. Then don’t forget to slide the line back through the slit when setting the tip -up.

I bought 5 bd tipups for 5$ and they all had cuts in them in a wrong spot and a minnow swimming up would catch the line on those cuts.id use a winder or deal with winding before i cut my good set.

I modified all nine of my BD that way. Way easier to pull the traps when done fishing.
