When is good ice

A buddy and I are from NW indiana and want to take a trip out of state from Nov.4-8. It will either be a hunting or fishing trip. My question is What time of the year is the typical fishable ice in the UP of Michigan.

I own a place on the WI/MI boarder, by early-mid December you should be fine. I'm not sure where you're going up there, but I'd call a local bait shop or resort for sure.

Barring a polar vortex of biblical proportions there will be more ice in my martini glass than in the entire UP that first week in November.

Better clean your shotguns/rifles...  ;)2
