So many new toys. Got the new boat winterized so it's time to spread a little more cash about for the hardwater season. What's that puppy weigh? Oh wait, you're still young. Never mind.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

What size were the raps?  I have some of the smallest size (I think 1 1/4”) but haven’t seen fit to use them very much.  Maybe I should try them out this year...

Has anyone tried the Acme hyper rattle? Picked a few up recently and going to give a try this winter.

I see that temperatures up in South Park are going to be dropping into the minus zero numbers a few nights this week and next. I can't recall when the lids usually go on but we're

on track. Still plenty of Indian Summer until then for sacs in some locations and steel leaders in others.

Where did this information come from? Single digits maybe, but I seriously doubt the minus zero numbers. The day time temperatures, winds, and other factors will determine how soon a lid forms.
I can remember fishing hard water in South Park around Thanksgiving last year, so yeah, seems like we’re on track, and yup, lots of good fall fishing left stinky.

Ski__ There's a site I came across called myweather2.com. It looks like a real weather forecast site with wind directions, barometer readings and all that but it's one of just a couple of sites that look at the Mile stand alone. Type in Elevenmile Canyon Reservoir and scroll down to October 10 and it reads as 8 below at 05:00. You've probably lived around here long enough to recognize that any forecast is just a tissue of lies anyway but I weigh in what the forecasts tell me especially on the wind conditions before I drive an hour and a half if there's a chance I'll get blown off the ice. Too old to drag a shelter along with the rest. Good thing about Thanksgiving is the ice is ready. Bad thing is I'm obliged to look at my relatives up close.

I’m an “OG” as well, so I know what ur sayin’! Thanks for that info, I’ll have to check out the website. I know that there could be a 20 to 30 degree temperature difference between Hartsel and Antero, so I imagine 11 Mile Canyon might have the same weather effect.  Maybe we can meet up sometime, fish, and remember the “good ole days.” Ski

Ski__ That weather site shows the reservoir, not the canyon. I see that you can also bring up a site specific forecast for Anterohole also, first one of those I've seen. Same cold and

wind weenie factors apply. What's the skinny on Spinney these days?

I put in a search for “Spinney Mountain weather” and it looks like the forecast is similar to Antero. Wednesday calls for a low of 0 degrees with snow on Thursday. Not a good fishing day!

We're expecting a high of only 29F here in Denver on Thurs...Finally!  Gonna need to drain the sprinkler valve...
The fishing action should really be picking up for a few fall places.
