I've heard that Brainard has a lid if you dont mind a 2 mile hike in. Other than that I havent heard.

Brainard ?? west of boulder... never been there hows the fishing? what kind of fish?

I have never been either, it is around the Ward area. I believe its only 5 foot deep at the most, and I know there are brookies, and I believe rainbows as well. If nothing else has a lid by Thanksgiving weekend I might give it a try. Think it has 4-6 inches of ice on it, they say it really gets windy up there. If your interested in trying it let me know.

you can also try St Mary's as well. It too has brookies in there. I haven't ice fished it, but I've been there in the summer. It has a short steep hike to it.

I may give it a try out of desperation if hard water doesn't come here shortly :(.

Never been to St. Marys. Dont even know where its at. The only St. Marys I've seen is I70 west up about Idaho Springs. This sound about right or am I way off base? Might end up seeing ya there.

mcnasty did you make it out this weekend?

I hear that the snake river inlet has ice on it. I'm planning on hitting that up after turkey day. I'll post up if the weather leaves the lid on.

found some at st mary's good 6in on the hole lake.  wind blew the hole time we were fishing but caught about 45 brookies in 4hr.  fish were around 4-10in fun to catch and put right back in the lake.  Am going to check out the coves at dillon tomorrow.
