Little Bay de Noc 3-13-2012
« on: Mar 13, 2012, 09:48 PM »
I don't think I have ever seen the bite this tough during late ice on Little Bay de Noc. Last night between 8 guys we landed just one walleye. Tonight between 4 guys, we scraped up 3. Two eaters and little better one caught by my good friend Ray Norby. My friend Joe Volpe pointed out the weak spot at the pressure crack for us by taking a small step and then being thigh high in water (thanks Joe). But we found a better spot to cross and made it out fine after that with a solid foot of good ice found out away from shore. FYI, I guess the Menominee River is now open from the dam all the way to the mouth for anyone interested. Need to hold the ice for just two more days...

Ya thats rough, I spent a good amount of time out there last week and it sucked. Ended up going to BBDN chasin whities and burbot. Gonna get on Garden Bay one more time on Sunday before I call it for open water season. Better bring a ladder.
Good Fishin!!!
