Title: Loctite On Carberator Mounting Bolts
Post by: hartly on Feb 23, 2018, 09:10 PM
A friend of mine bought a new carburetor for his Eskimo Shark 51cc Auger .  He asked me to help him install it. Do we need to use Loctite  on the two mounting bolts ?

For a few pennies, those nuts could be swapped out for Nyloc nuts. there would be nothing to dissolve.
Locktab washers are very positive and only require a slot being machined on/in the stud.    ;)2
Aerospace quality and no worry of ever loosening.

Sounds great. Only problem is the mounting bolts tighten into the manifold under the  carburetor .

I had my carb off a few times for cleaning and never used loc-tite on any of those bolts.
