Huh?

This was my question as well. I've had my ION for 4 seasons, likely drilled well over 200 holes with it and never had an issue. In fact, on average I only have to charge  it 3-4 times per season. I'm sure some people have had issues w/the electric augers, nothing is perfect, but I've not heard anybody swearing at an electric auger that won't start when it's -10...can't say the same for gas augers. But use what 'ya got, electric augers are not cheap and if you've got a gas one that works keep at it and get your $$ out of it as they likely weren't cheap when you bought it either.

Shunning a guy that uses a gas auger is ridiculous.lol and a well maintained gas auger will start in minus 10 with no problems.wonder how those snowmobiles run in that temp?i run electric and gas augers still.guys will see that electric augers and drills will burn up way before a gas auger will.my 1970 1 arm bandit still runs.my ridgid drill will be long gone in that many years.

I had a mod 30 jiffy for years. Had good luck with it. I went electric 4 years ago . I like that I  can leave it in the back seat of my extend a cab with no smell. So far i love the ion. I still keep the good old mora finbor 6 inch hand augar for ice less than 8 inches or so. Whatever gets you to the fish is good
