I've used anything from tungsten jigs with plastics (tipped with a spike) up to 1/8oz spoons with spikes. It seems to depend on their mood although I catch less smaller perch when using the bigger baits most of the time

The only 2 things I use now when perch fishing is a size 2 or 3 jigging rapala with a jensen egg on the treble hook and a beaded spoon. They are a very popular lure here in Michigan and are deadly on perch. Especially active perch. Just look up McGathy Slab Grabbers, Diamond Willows, Gusters, Kens.

Just about anything rigged with plastics for me.   Then any spoons tipped with meat.

Depends on presentation...
Bottom banging, I go with a little heavier lures, 1/8 tov1/4 oz same type of stuff for walleyes.  When they're right lipped, light stuff 1/32 oz or lighter and very tight jiggle to deadsticking.

my hot lure recently has been the largest swedish pimple in flourescent orange and gold, tipped with any kind of meat. the dinks leave it alone, but the bigger fish will clobber it. on slower days, the smallest frostee jigging spoon in glow chartreuse tipped with a waxworm or small chunk of nightcrawler is hard to beat.

Is that the 1 oz pimple at 3 1/4 inches or the 4 oz pimple at 5 inches?  That's awful heavy...

I use northland fry jig tipped with waxworms for smaller perch and buckshot spoon tipped with minnow for jumbos.

Sometimes I catch a small 3-4" perch with a 3" crank bait.  Was just wondering if that was the same case.

As this thread has clearly pointed out perch of larg size when on the bite will hit just about anything that moves. Tip it with just about anything that sways or shakes the hook when moved and drop her down. Day to day one may work a little better then another but most often the biggest thing is just finding active fish...after that it's all pretty easy.
