Very nice series of pictures, those trout sure look well fed.  Did the sturgeon come out of the Fraser?  I've fished in BC, but only off Campbell River.

Sweet pics! Oh how I wish they would re-open the Nechako for Sturgen. >:(
Your cabin sure looks cosy. If I'm not mistaken, I think those Islands in the background are my old stomping grounds. How far down the lake from the river are you?

Heh monophil, that is the Harrison river about a km up from the Fraser.

Pitbell: I'm about 12kms up from the "T" river. From the "S" river in town, about 42 kms. Those islands are the islands that are just down from the "T"reserve. Remember the creek you said you fished in for big rainbows, well its 28 kms from there. These are straight lake kms and not road kms.

Good pics! Nice fat brookies eh!? Was that cobb? We mostly fish gravelpit for brookies but this year they stocked it so it was a lot of wee fish! Suuposedly Eena was killed but we've had lots of luck out there :-\ go figure!

Welcome PGKris. Yes that is Cobb Lake. Yes gravel pit lake sure does have lots of small ones in it. Caught and released over 30 in an hour.

I think the problem with the Nechako sturgeon is they are not reproducing. Could be the warmer h2o temps??? I had a coffee with Jason Yarmish who does sturgeon research on the Nechako, Fraser Rivers. He was doing research on Stuart lake and in 2 weeks they tagged 11 sturgeon in that lake. The biggest was a hair under 10 ft. All of the fish tagged were bigger 4ft plus fish. They tend to gear for the sockeye runs. The bigger fish are in the river systems but are for some reason not reproducing. He said last year after they have tagged in Stuart lake, they checked a month later and a few of the fish were in the Stuart river, and one fish was down close to PG. They were not excited to get big sturgeon but would have been
excited getting smaller ones meaning they were reproducing.

Were have you been fishing this year other than previous mentioned?

Yes they are small for BC standards, but those little ones sure taste good. If all goes well this week, I will be posting some pics of some big lakers and burbot. I don't know if I will ice a sturgeon that big, possible but doubtful. Unfortunately Bryan we can't icefish for springs as they are out in the salt chuck.

Well thats great news heh Kris. I'm sure it has something to do with the tampering of Alcan on the river. Jason probably did work with Don Cadden at one time but last year he was employed by a native band??? Carrier Sekani I think he said. Interesting guy to talk to.

Good job whiskey. You take great pics. You should post these pics in the pictures section. I'm sure the boys down south would like to see. I don't think alot of them roam this BC section.
I was at the estate tonight and had to chase off a fox that kept trying to get into my bait bag. He hung around for a good hour. Chased him off 5 times. It was too rainy to get good pic.
Very cool pic.
