Just wondering if anybody knows if there is any regulations on using green lights for ice fishing to attract bait fish looked in the 2019 regulations book could not find anything? Thanks

Totally legal to use submersible lights for any type of fish.... Ive often wondered how it would affect walleye.... Seems like setting a light to attract baitfish then fishing on the rim of the lights reach would be effective

Question on this if you are fishing in 32’ water how deep would you put the light? I have a spot I fish they are often suspended at 27-28 FOA.

Right below the ice no matter the depth of the fish is it a good way to start. If it’s not working you can adjust, but I rarely have my light more that a few feet down for crappie or smelt.

The small 3 page user guide that came with my light recommended setting it up about 12 feet away from where you want to fish at and at mid water column.

Makes sense.its not yhe light itself that calls the predator fish in.its the ecosystem it creates and calls in freshwater shrimp/invertebrates and baitfish that draw in the predators.

I have used them for a few years. They do work good to draw in the minnows that then draw in the Crappies. I fish in the circle of light that it casts and use a lighted Thill bobber. Lots of fun.
