I like to start with a Hali Lure or other search lure of my own rigging.  Tipped with maggots, waxies, or minnow head(gulp) Next I go to Genz worm or Lindy Fat boy.  then palm rod and diamond jig with maggot or plastic

I like to start with chartreuse Halli or #3 pimple in the same color. I also favor Caty jigs, each has a place in my box.

Northland mimic minnow with a minnow head or a Gulp alive minnow head on the treable hook. I like to use fireline with a swivel to 4 lb floro on the end my biggest perch have been on this give it a try lots of fish will eat the gulp
