Hinsdale Setbacks
« on: Jan 14, 2020, 12:51 PM »
How are the Hinsdale setbacks?  Anybody been fishing there recently?  Looking to get up there this weekend.  Thanks.

Better check with someone in that area before you drive up from Conn. Rain and high temps (snow melt) have put a lot of water in the rivers and oxbows.

I know. The lake I have been fishing had 9" of ice before the weekend. Car size drain holes now dot the lake. With the possible snowfall on Saturday there is no way I'm going back there. Hoping for some better ice just over the border.

Lol. Thanks. I have a float suit, picks, and spud. I'm usually pretty conservative about thin ice.  That's why I'm asking about conditions.  As always, I will spud as I go.

I fish areas just north of there and water has been a hair above flood stage. Doubt they're any good. A handy tool is H2oline, or waterline sites to check flowcasts. They have definitely affected my winter and summer fishing trips.
