Merkle lake Waterloo area

Has anyone fished this lake? I fished it 10-15 yrs back, long walk out. I would like to take my boys out next Monday no school. Any info would be helpful, Thanks!

Pretty sure it froze out a few years ago. I have friends that fished it last winter and although they landed over a dozen pike, not one was over 17"! So yeah, taking the kids would be a riot. You should be able to keep them busy for sure!
