Livingston County Ice
« on: Dec 09, 2018, 02:04 PM »
It's around if you can find it and feel comfortableon 2.0".  Got a few keeper gills at the moment and two small ones on tipups on the drop off. Looking good till about Wednesday and then won't be gaining much. Should have 3.0"-3.5" where I'm at by then. No rain during the warmer temps let's hope it survives!!

Funniest thing about ice fishing for me is when people who know nothing about ice activities try to warn me about the dangers of the ice...

As long as the remaining ice makes it through today and tonight, I think you're right we might be able to get out this weekend

Ive pretty much have seen all the ice dissipate everywhere around here. I'm not getting any hopes up for this small chunk of cold. Not trying to stay positive when we are into mid January and have only fished over 3" of ice for a week. And that was dicey at best between the warmups and honey combed ice at that. Hoping I'm wrong however.  Boat has been getting used a lot. Just wish the fish catching was better!

I'm working a mile from one of the gravel pits I frequent. I'm gonna give it a check today. It did not loose its ice with the mild weather we had.

The little bay across the street from my house still has ice on strawberry that I'll be able to get on tomorrow or Saturday. That wind ate up a lot of ice that had survived the warmth and rain  :'(

About an inch at the edges of my cove on strawberry, ice that survived the warmth should be 1.5-2in. I'm thinking Saturday morning I'll be able to find out.

Also this is on main St going into Ann Arbor haha

That's amazing news. My lake has skimmed over night before last. With the forecast, I'll be back on for the second time this year on 2.5"-3" by Tuesday/Wednesday.

Was by whitemore lk yesterday before sundown. The launch was locked up but just barely. There was a section with 3” of ice but most of it was fresh clear <1”.

Is there word on any place in Livingston area that is good, I sure am itching to get out.

You would have had to keep  an eye on the particular lake. If it didn't loose it ice it should be good. I fished 4" of clear hard ice yesterday evening. caught 25 nice perch between 2 of us.
