Bowfishing
« on: Feb 19, 2006, 10:04 PM »
No not a ice fishing question but was wondering if anyone on here bowfishes in the summer for either carp or garpike?  I am looking for the hardcore bowfisher.  I have seen some guys in my area towing boats with raised decks on them with lights all the way around and I would like to meet one of these guys and see about going out at night for the fish.

there is a guy down the rd form me who has a tricked out boat with raised deck, generator and lots of lights, that does it most nights.Ive done it couple times in daylight off my uncles pontoon boat, its quite a challenge cause the water refraction.. w/e but you gotta shoot lower then your aiming for.the biggest Ive shot with my bow was 14lbs, the biggest Ive caught with rod and reel, which I think is funner was 19lbs, looking to get a monster this summer, there such a blast though on rod and reel.
Pain is temporary, trophies last forever

I have a couple spots to go but am always looking for more.  Especially a spot I could shoot from shore.

I would really like to find someone with one of these rigs to go out one night and try in the dark.  I shoot alot of carp in the summer with my bow.

Chautauqua lake in the summer all you need is a row boat and there are millions of carp to shoot with your bow. They actually tow you around we have shot some 40 pound carp at the south end near greenhurst lots of fun!!!!!!!
If i'm not fish'n then i'd rather be turkey hunt'n [img width=100 height=80]
