A couple buddies want me to come fish the Morey derby for fun this weekend. Anyone know if there catching many pike there anymore?  I heard bass for the most part but I would rather fish gators!

They are trying to catch pike but I haven't seen a good one in there for a while now.  I fish it a lot in the summer and we use to get some bass fishing.  They are putting a lot of treatment to kill the weeds and it's really hurting the fishing.  Especially the gills, which might be why the pike numbers are down.  Good Luck, morey has been dead all winter.

It would be nice to hear about how the pike catch goes during the derby. I called a local tackle shop last year to inquire about fishing there for pike and received a pretty discouraging reply.
