I took some a couple years back out of St. Catherine. They were pretty nice. Buddy of mine has had good luck around Otter and Little otter creeks. Plus theres always setbacks on the Conn. river. I've also heard of some in Chittenden Res. Good luck and let us know how you do.

I see your from Chester. I lived there many years ago and if you want some great crappie fishing head down to the setbacks along the Connecticut River in Springfield or Bellows Falls ! There's some real nice slabs that come off that river !

white's cove definitely has some crappie in there, just gotta find em.  my friend and i went out there really early, prolly a week before christmas and brought back about 30 crappie.  a few were real nice ones.  went back christmas eve and got one, and that day we even set tip-ups for them too.  i guess if everyone caught fish every time they'd call it catching not fishing.
My dream is clear, it involves fishin' n beer

Crappie in Chittenden Res.   don't think so  I have never seen one or heard of one out of there..  anyone else heard of this ??

I have fished Chittenden quite a bit and I never caught or saw a crappie.  They may be there, I don't know, but I wouldn't go to chittenden if crappie is your main target.  There are a lot of perch though.

If you know where to fish, champlain is supposed to be very good, although it isn't really southern VT.  I was directed to a place called the "tubes" a couple years ago and I caught a few but nothing special.  I may have been there at the wrong time.

I have caught a good number of crappie at Hortonia.  This isn't really southern VT either but it isn't real far north.  The problem with Hortonia is all the eurasian milfoil.  I have only fished it in the summer and the milfoil is so thick it makes fishing a pain in the butt.

Unless someone "just" put them in there, there definitely are no crappie in Chittenden.
I was repeating what I had been told by an "old timer" who used to live down that way. He may have been pulling my leg he was known to do that from time to time. He has since gone to the "Great fishing spot in the sky". Him and my Dad are probibly sitting there sharing a bottle and laughing like hell. RIP "Grump".
