Fishfinder
« on: Feb 13, 2012, 04:05 PM »
Seeking advice on portable fishfinders. I have been thinking of upgrading my fishfinder. I currently use my Fishing Buddy 2255. I am considering  upgrade to a color unit such as the Hummingbird 345C or a color flasher unit. What do others use and recommend for units in the $350 range?  Thanks , appreciate any input.

Is this to be used strictly for icefishing?  If so,  I recomend the Showdown Ice Troller,    usually around 200 bucks

Ise de by who catches the fish...and takes em home to Liza.

I use a 385C it has a color screen and GPS. It was a permanent Finder and I made it portable which now I use it winter and summer. I think though I will get a flasher unit eventually.

Bill &  Grilz
do  you guys prefer the flasher type of fishfinder over the  regular screen display? Is the flasher units more accurate detecting fish, your lure and line?  Appreciate your thoughts.

I'm leaning towards the Hummingbird  Ice 345C  which is a flasher unit. I would use it strictly for ice fishing.

I'm quite happy with the Bottom Line Fishin' buddy 2255 for soft water flyfishing.

My answer is yes and yes and the more money you spend the better it's detection to fish and your lure even smaller ones.  ;)
