Need advice for permy
« on: Apr 02, 2013, 08:46 AM »
I'm planning on building a 5' x 7' ice shack. It's going to be framed with 2x2's and then insulated with 1/2 inch 4'x8' foam sheets (it's foam with tin foil like material on both sides) then use boat shrink wrap for the exterior. (got the shrink wrap free) My question is, should I put the insulation between the studs or nail the foam on the outside of the studs. I don't plan on using any paneling on the inside but I will add some bracing.
Thanks for any help.

If you put the foam on the outside of the studs it could help protect the shrink wrap from rubbing directly on the studs.  give it a little cushion.
