Thinkin im gonna sandwich 2x4 on the flat for framin along with 1 and a half inch blue foam between 3/4 ply. This wil sit on top of three 4x6 runners, should be pretty stout im thinkin.

That should take anything you can dish out, short of a Missle launch maybe ! ;D  If you rip the 2x4s to 1 3/4 thick and stack them on edge during the build you will have a little less flex and save a little weight. JMHO.

Yup, Yup, Rip the 2Xs=strong - On the flat=not so strong, too much mid floor flex. You`ll better utilize the wood also, where on the flat you will actually be adding non-benificial weight.

We did not lay ours on edge and I 100% regret it.  We knew better when building it, but we did it cheap and wanted greater height than what we thought we were going to get if laid on edge.  It was also a design flaw on my part when drawing it up and we built it in too big a hurry.  Our floor now has too much flex, it's strong enough but it flexes which is uncomfortable.  If we can find a way to change it we will, but it's no easy matter.
