Anglers will be targeting walleye during the I.P.A. events too, so I would keep them in the running. So are we talking one winner takes all the glory in each category, or top 3 for each, or...  Since we're talking about bragging rights, I'm leaning towards a winner takes all, but have the top 10 listed on the site, or something like that. Thoughts??

I agree on the walleye, it stays

What aobut brook trout swap for pickerel?

Leaderboard of top 3, maybe 1st half and 2nd half but keep an overall top 3 and winner top 1st place per catagory get the bragging rights and a trophy badge.

how does that sound?

I think between pickerel and brookies there would many more entries/participation for pickerel, so I would lean towards pickerel. @)

x2  This is a great idea for representing our state as well    thanks to the fellas for stepping up to run this separate tournament. I'm in! Can't wait for ice!

Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish.

OK GENTS
I think we have our NY lucky 7 ice fishing categories:

Northern Pike
Pickerel
Walleye
Crappie
Yellow Perch
Bluegill/Pumpkinseed
Lake Trout

Just for a new refresher way to look at the leader board. What do you think about this.
Tourney runs 1/1/13 thru 3/31/13.
For the over all bragging rights is biggest fish for the whole tournament, but I'm thinking about displaying the top 1, 2, 3 places broken out per month. So we can top monthly fish Jan., Feb. and March, but for the overall bragging rights and trophy badge will be the biggest for the whole run of the tourney.
Is good?

All ideas will be looked at and considered for this is OUR tourney for NY'ers.

How about a Grand Slam prize for the total length on all 7 species if someone completes a Slam and catches all 7?

I like that. At the end of the Tourny, 1st place will get a trophy badge, in all 7 categories.. And 2nd and 3rd will get "honorable mentions."

If you'd guys like it, I could set it up and run it if you'd like.
I would have to get with admin to get some fancy editting buttons and a child board like Maine.

What ya think for catagories?    Maine has a ton of them, I think we need to have less, lol.

Northern Pike
Walleye
Lg/Sm Bass
Yellow Perch
Crappie
BlueGill/Pumpkinseed
Lake Trout

How about lucky 7 catagories

thoughts?

and make up some 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophy tags for your signature.
Those work perfect. I'm in for the tourney.

The System is IN and VERY EXCITED, and I bet BIGJim223 will be all a hard one to beat in the Lake Trout series, IF his lake actually freezes this year

I use to do that when I was a kid living in rouses point n.y. on lake Champlain thirty years ago.
