Fishing was slow but the food was awesome....I'll Let the Good Capt Shay offer up full report but here are a few pix

6 lb 1 oz pike - my first pike

Great day on the ice all !!! Although the fishing could have been better, we did manage to land three pike, a dozen or so pickerel, a hand full of bass and a bunch of punkers on the jig sticks. The food was over the top!! Three chowders, the biggest vat of sausage I have ever seen and the list goes on. Thanks to every one who showed to make one of the best days I've had on the ice this year. I didn't take a lot of pictures but here are a a couple by BigRedDodge.

Great time out there guys. Capt Shay & gang - thank you for having us on your home turf. Nice body of water & some very healthy fish.. even though fishing was slow. It was great to meet many of you and share some laughs. Congrats Karl on your first pike - you deserve it buddy. As always, I enjoyed trying to jig up micro sunfish! All in all ,a great time. 2 years in a row now, great food and people, high winds and almost no fish(for myself at least) I guess i know what to expect next year now. Great to see some of you again, and meet a bunch of you for the 1st time. Thanks Capt. for hosting the event.

Excellent time on the ice boys, even thou it was a slow day. Congrats to Porter and Unoman again for the pikes. For those of us who caught little to nothing you gave us some excitement for the day. Capt. Thanks for use of the grill and tables. Can hardly Waite for next years.

Bartons Cove update, no Pike King he stayed home to bake a cake, I was told. Between the three of us, 3 flags no fish, but "BaitMan" on the left had the marinated pork chops going on (em em good) and the sausage and red sweet peppers made the day, myself "Crazycrawler" in the middle got totally skunked, not a flag, "PlayHard" on the right had the only real good running flag all day but no fish, maybe next time, great to meet some of the other Shanty guys, killer seafood chowda "Unoman", Good Times.

Plenty of ice left guys. Don't worry - will be cold Thurs - Sun with an artic blast coming late weekend

Just think about what ponds hold thick ice and they'll be fine. Alot of clouds this week will help too, even though some daytime temps may climb. - Porter

Flaggs! well, not really.... BUT: the day was great and it was terrific to have met a bunch of shanty guys! The food was over-the-top and the beer was better than any you could buy in a store!

To all the guys here on ice shanty. Finally got on. I had a great time with all you. Food was great capt. Going to try to make it to bare hill but might be caught up with the family. Porter we got get out again!! Hard or soft water does matter. We'll get hooked up before i go to Maryland. Thanks guys see you again soon
