Aqua Vu Z series. Hard or Soft case

I got a good deal on eBay for a ZT50 but it doesn't have a case. How important is the case? And which is better, the hard or the soft? they both cost $20 direct from Aqua Vu.

Never seen the hard case in use but I really like my soft case. Everything goes in there. The camera, the ice pod fits inside the sunshield like that is what is made for, an assortment of bait, and three of those little plano jigboxes full of teardrops. It's waterproof and when I get back from a days fishing I just leave it open overnight to dry out the melted ice and snow for the next day.
