Would it work?
« on: Nov 25, 2017, 02:25 PM »
I have been thinking about the new Garmin Panoptics transducers and was wondering why I cant just point my Vexilar Transducer at an angle in the direction I want to look? Would that not help me spot say crappies in the direction it pointed it? Wondering what angle might be best?

Input is welcome!

You can swing your transducer in your hole to get better coverage or get a beam bender

Purchased one last year and then lost it before I could use it. Found it just recently so will be giving it a try soon.

as i understand from thread on here in the past.  you get interference from ice at edge of cone if you shoot it too level.  other than that they said you could mark fish to the side.  i made one from 14-3 wire, coating and all.  never found much need for it but it worked ok.  more for open water searching more than weed edge fishing.

i just thought maybe i shoulda tried it in open water! hum i mite have to try it this week.
real fishermen don't ask "where you catch those"
